SIGMA DELTA TAU
BETA BETA CHAPTER
ABOUT SIGMA DELTA TAU AT MICHIGAN STATE:
Founded at Cornell University on March 25th, 1917, Sigma Delta Tau Sorority has over 50,000 alumnae from over one hundred college campuses across the United States and Canada. Sigma Delta Tau provides its members with intellectual, philanthropic, leadership and social opportunities within the framework of mutual respect and high ethical standards. As a chapter, we seek to “Empower Women”, the national mission of Sigma Delta Tau, through educational programming, community service, and fundraising events throughout the academic year. The women of the Beta Beta Chapter here at MSU also build valuable leadership skills, are involved with our community, promote high academic achievement, and create lifelong bonds of sisterhood and friendship. In addition to our academic and philanthropic work, SDT plans many social events, including date parties, semi-formal, formal, sisterhoods, and sporting events.

PHILANTHROPY EVENT: PREVENT CHILD ABUSE AMERICA
“One woman can change anything. Many women can change everything.” That was the belief of Sigma Delta Tau’s National founders, and since 1917, SDT has fought for the rights of women. The Beta Beta chapter holds a variety of events throughout the year, such as their annual Defeat Abuse Week and "ΣΔΤ Late", to support their national partners: Jewish Women International (JWI) and Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA). By working with these organizations, SDT sisters dedicate themselves to spread awareness and work to ensure that every women and child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
