Transfer Students
Are you thinking about joining a sorority but aren't sure you can because you are not a freshman? Have you heard that your chances of being selected for sorority membership is less likely if you are not a freshman?
Whether you have finished a year at State and want to go through recruitment as a sophomore or junior, or you are transferring to State for the first time...joining a sorority can still be a great way to get involved! We have recently made a significant change to our recruitment selection process that opens up more opportunities than ever before for women who will be sophomores or higher. Beginning with the Fall 2010 Recruitment, "upperclass" students (sophomores and above) will not be competing with freshmen for membership selection in a sorority. Sororities will have more spots open for upperclass women and will be expected to select an "upperclass quota" just like they have always been expected to select an overall quota (the number you are expected to pledge). This year sororities will select an upperclass quota and a freshmen quota, yet all new members will be in the same pledge class and participate in the same overall events during recruitment week.
If you have any questions about your potential recruitment experience, please do not hesitate to call us at (662) 325-3063. Please register for Sorority Recruitment as soon as possible! We look forward to seeing you in August!
